When membership vacancies occur and places consequently become available, the membership secretary submits those names at the top of the waiting list for final approval. Their applications and references are sent to committee via email or are circulated to the committee at a meeting. An application needs the approval of a majority of committee members if the applicant is to be offered membership. Those approved will then be sent a letter confirming their membership of the association.
This has been our policy for many years and is a process that all members go through. It is very important that this procedure is followed as it provides a level playing field for all applicants.
